Once upon a time artists never thought of signing their work because who they were wasn't considered important it was all about the work.<br /><br />These days who we are is inextricably linked to what we do, and vice versa. The trouble with things like film and music is that when we enjoy them they do reach inside us, and it's hard to let that happen if the person behind them is someone we wouldn't want near us in real life. There's also the problem that when someone's work is publicly praised, the person themselves is endorsed. I think that's why people don't want to believe Dylan Farrow, if they do it'll mean they can't like Woody Allen films anymore. It doesn't seem possible to be able to say someone is a good artist but a terrible person.<br /><br />As you can see, I'm pretty conflicted about this.
